Company History

Marantz is an consumer electronic producing company that develops and sells high-end audio products.  The company was established in 1952 and based in New York. 

  • Started manufacturing its products in Japan through a partnership with Standard Radio Corp. in 1966.
  • Opened its first manufacturing plant in Belgium in 1974. 
  • Phillips Electronics acquired the company in 1980. 
  • Marantz/Japan acquired the brand in 2001.
  • Merge with Denon to form D&M Holdings in 2002.
  • Sound United LLC acquires D&M Holdings in 2017.
  • The company Sound United LLC acquires D+M Holding
